ALL IS WELL

It's OK Carol,  I haven't killed husband nor am I likely to do so. He has the pension and medical so I have to keep him around for a while.
Sorry to worry you with that last blog.  As I have often said, my blog is a vent and boy oh boy did I need to vent !  All is well and returned to "normal" which is actually quite sad and frightening but it seems to work for us.

In the mean time all the grand kids have gone home. Such a bitter-sweet parting.  I love them to pieces but I do not have the energy that I used to and am exhausted by the time our visit is over. I think the thing I miss the most is the morning wake up. Now for a sleeper like me you would never think I would enjoy being woken up but it is just the BEST when done by a grand child. Each one has their very own style.
Abby, being the first, has set the bar pretty high. She always waits till grandpa comes out of the bedroom and then she sneaks in to yell "Boo" with hopes of catching me asleep. Following that she climbs into the bed and we snuggle and play "baby bird". This is a game where you make a nest of pillows and blankets for Abby, aka baby bird, to curl up in.  From there we enter into the world of baby bird in her nest and all the adventures it involves. At times there are marauding raccoons that are trying to attack our nest, other times baby bird is learning to fly. Sometimes it is just listening to grandma tell a story.  What ever we wind up doing there is always a LOT of giggling involved. Abby is now 6 so I am sure our days of "baby bird" are coming to an end but I thing we will manage to come up with some excuse for staying in bed as long as we can.
Kaelin is also a great snuggle bug. Her style of waking grandma is to come running into my bedroom and run straight for my side of the bed where she squeals "GRANDMA" like she is totally surprised to find me there. No matter where we are she ALWAYS seems truly delighted to see me each morning. What a great feeling that is !  From there Kaelin snuggles into the bed with me but doesn't stay too long unless we pop a video into the TV. Kaelin has places to go and things to do so only the TV will distract her from her next adventure.  As you can see from the photo I introduced Kaelin to BREAKFAST IN BED this past visit to our house. The child was up at 6:45 AM so it seemed like a nice way to extend our quiet morning. It was a HUGE success and will be repeated when ever Kaelin visits.

And last but not least is my little happy man, Smith. Smith has had a couple of sleep overs here at Casa Grandma and we have had a great time every time. Because Smith is still a "little guy" grandma worries about him sleeping all by himself in the crib in the guest room. So I get to "camp out" in the bed in the guest room with the little man.  He is a super sleeper, like all my grand kids (chips off the ole grandma). Once he goes to sleep that is that but I like being near "just in case". In the morning I will hear little noises coming from the crib and when I open my eyes there stands Smith, hanging on to the rail of the crib, all smiles. AND HE HAS THE BEST SMILE EVER !  Now that there are FINALLY 2 teeth in that mouth the smile is even better. He just stands in the crib, grinning like a silly fool and making the best noises ever.

And so, I miss my little guys. Kaelin and Finley were here for 2 weeks but didn't stay with us. We had 3 sleep over nights at grandmas and they were the best. We won't get to see Abby and Roman again until September but Smith is on the agenda for next weekend!  We will even get to baby sit him in 2 weeks.
When I look at these angels I can't imagine ever being sad or angry. They are the lights of my life.
