In the course of a day you make hundreds of decisions. "Should I stop for gas now or wait till later?", "Should I have the chicken or beef?". "Should I wear the black pants or the blue?" Nothing earth shattering but times when you have to pause to THINK. My days are a bit more complicated living with this Husband of mine. I make decisions to either tell Husband that he has a sock hanging out of his back pocket or just to let him go to the store that way. Or perhaps the decision is to sit and watch Fox News with Husband or have to listen to his synopsis of the news at a later time. These are NOT easy choices but tonight's choice was a doozie!
Kaelin's mom and dad had gone out to dinner leaving Kaelin AND Finley here with Grandma and Grandpa. Kaelin and I had been doing projects earlier in the evening and Finn had been snoozing on a chair. Finn woke up and wanted to eat NOW! I put in a call to "the bull pen" for Husband and he dragged himself out of the recliner in front of the TV and came into the living room where Kaelin, Finn and I were. Now the decision had to be made as to which child I would entrust to this man. Husband is NOT good at baby bottles. He tends to forget what he is doing and end up with the bottle in the poor child's ear before his focus returns. (I swear he suffers from Attention Deficit Disorder. No Joke!) But I also know that Husband is about as "crafty" as he is handy and that is not saying much. We have had to call Handymen in to change light bulbs! So now I have a dilemma, give husband the baby or entrust him with Kaelin and a project that involves a hot glue gun. It was not an easy choice to make. I finally decided that Kaelin could handle things if Grandpa got out of control so I took Finn and Grandpa got Kaelin. Luckily Kaelin got tired of the project before too much damage could be done by either of them and Finn ate quickly. I handed off Finn to Husband with hopes of Grandpa getting a burp or two from the little man while I bathed Kaelin, washed her hair, creamed her eczema riddled little body, brushed teeth, watched a video and snuggled her into bed for the night. By the time all that was done Finn was ready for his next bottle and I was ready to sit and feed him. Finley woke up after that bottle and was happy to sit in his car seat and watch Grandma clean up the kitchen and dinning room from dinner three hours ago.
Kaelin is now sound asleep in the guest bed room for her sleep over with Grandma and Grandpa. Finn has gone home with mom and Dad. Grandpa has showered and is in bed after his hard evening of TV watching and Grandma only has one more decision to make for today. . . SHOULD I KILL GRANDPA IN HIS SLEEP OR LET HIM LIVE ANOTHER DAY . . . ?
