BURP ! It seems that we have done nothing but eat, eat, and eat some more these last 5 days that Sharon and Bob were here. WE haven't sat still for more than an hour a day but when we sit we eat !
Since S&B are leaving tomorrow we thought we would end off our fun filled week with a LOBSTER dinner. It is sort of a tradition for the 4 of us to celebrate each summer with a lobster party. From the time we first met our neighbors on Tyler Avenue in NY we have been celebrating summer with beer and lobster. There were a few incidents over the years that were a result of too much beer but no one ever got arrested and we never lost a child. As the years progressed and the kids got older the parties continued. S&B lucked out because their kids didn't like lobster and were always happy with a hot dog. Unfortunately we had introduced our kids to lobster at a very early age and they all demanded a lobster of their own. Good thing H had a second job.
So tonight was our farewell dinner for this visit and it was EXCELLENT ! A few tater tots on the side, a salad to reduce the guilt and 4 very fine 2 pound lobsters. Sharon and I had had a "Zombie" to drink earlier in the afternoon so we stuck with water for dinner while the boys continued on with their beer fest. It was PERFECT! Then we were so full all we could do was plop down in front of the TV for the rest of the night.
I'll be real sad to see Sharon leave but while she was here we set up a road trip to Ohio for August.
But that is another blog for another night.
For now it is time to get some sleep. We were up early today to go to 8:45 mass and then breakfast, which just happened to be very delicious and filling. I had a Lox Benny. Eggs Benedict with lox on the English muffin instead of Canadian bacon.
I think I'll take an Alka Seltza before sleep tonight.
