Yesterday Grandpa and I took Kaelin to LION COUNTRY SAFARI ! We had a ball ! The child is a trip and a half and had us laughing most of the time. We arrived at cousin Ann's condo where Kaelin and family are staying this trip to be greeted by a super excited little girl wearing her leaf mask. Don't ask ! I would show you a picture but I am to tired to figure out why my computer isn't showing the last thousand pictures I have down loaded.
Any way . . . Off we went to Lion Country and we had a great time. First we drove through the safari part where the animals roam free. Kaelin was very interested in all the animals and checked out their feet and other body parts. She figured out (in her mind) who the daddy was and who the mommy and kids were. Grandpa showed her how the daddy lion has all the hair around his face and grandma made her laugh with my imitations of the mommy lion sprawled out under the tree. Once we finished our safari we entered the park where there are rides, a water park and a giraffe who loves to be fed lettuce. All of this was a huge hit with Kaelin. She rode on everything, ate her first corn dog and loved it, played at her first water park and just plain wore us out. As we got in the car at 4:25 PM ready to head home to mom and dad Kaelin asked it we could go see the animals ONE MORE TIME to say good night to them. The safari park closes at 4:30 so we zipped around the parking lot and headed into the safari park for one more ride. The animals were actually more animated at this hour than they had been at 11AM so we got to talk to them all, up close and personal. (There also were only 2 other cars in the entire park at that hour so we had the place to ourselves. Well, us and about a dozen rhinos, 60 zebras and any number of deer, antelope, water buffalo, wildebeest, etc. Not to mention the ostriches that are running all over the place.)
We finally got home around 7, had a late dinner out with mom and dad and then we all slept well for the night! As Kaelin got into her car to go back to the condo she even told us GOOD NIGHT !
