LEAVING BEHIND - - - LOOKING FORWARD ?

I knew it would come to this but hoped it wouldn't. I have to sell my home, my house in paradise. Ger and I bought this place 12 years ago this August and it has been my dream home.  Anyone who has been here knows why.  Simple design, easy to care for and just plain AWESOME in every way!
Twelve years of grand kids growing up visiting "grand ma's house" with an entire double "garage" size room filled with toys and a pool to play in has brought so many great memories. Abby, Kaelin, Smith and Finn all learned to swim here in this pool. Christmas' , Easter's and Thanksgivings were celebrated here in style. I can't remember any of those holidays from New York for some reason.  Maybe because they didn't involve grand kids.  Kent and Kristen had their rehearsal dinner party here the night before their wedding. It's a house meant for a party.
So I guess maybe that is why I need to move on.  The last two times I tried to cook a large roast for a party dinner I DESTROYED the roast. Totally and completely overcooked the turkey and the fresh ham so much so that it was like eating "jerky".  (You know the stuff that you buy at 7-11 or WaWa.)
I think my party days are over. Don't get me wrong . . .  I'm still ready to GO to party but I'm done being the hostess for the party. So if I'm not going to hostess the party what do I need this big house for?  Do I need to clean 3 bathrooms? Do I want to clean a patio AND a lanai ? And more importantly do I need the cost of pool maintenance, taxes on this place, HOA and POA fees, home owners insurance that is through the roof, and a house that is almost 40 years old and slowly falling apart?  The answer to all the above is no.  Not a rousing NO but a quiet little no. If I won the lottery and could afford cleaning ladies and handy men I'd stay here forever but reality bites and the fact is I've got to find something a LOT smaller and cheaper and so we come to the LOOKING FORWARD part of this deal.
Where to go . . .  Where to go ?????????
I'd love to stay in the area but the prices around Palm Beach Gardens are pretty high. Who knew I was living in such a fancy pants area. And so I am looking and looking and looking. Keeping in mind I have those adorable grand kids 40 minutes south of me in Pompano who swear they are moving up here in a couple of years. I hope they weren't planning on moving in with me ?
