ROYAL WINDSOR FARM

After the weekend of waking up at dawn with Abby I got to sleep in today. It was a rainy Monday and the kids went off to school tired after their weekend with us. Bridget got the kids off to school and then went for a BIG shopping run to the grocery store. She had us laughing explaining how she doesn't let Kyle do the grocery shopping because he is always looking for a bargain. Kyle will come home with $20 worth of groceries, so proud that he did such good bargain shopping but Bridget won't have enough food to get through the week. That's my boy! Kyle sure as heck doesn't take after me.
After the groceries were put away and the soup for tonight's dinner was started in the crock pot Bridget, Ger and I piled into the car and took off for a lovely lunch at the Royal Farm. The food is wonderful, the ingredients are fresh fresh fresh and the setting is charming. They also have a gift shop that sells fresh produce, meats and breads among other things but after the lamb and mint pasty that we had for lunch there wasn't any room for extras.
Bridget dropped Ger and I in town so we could get some more "funny money" for our trip to Wales tomorrow. We then did a little shopping and picked up an English soccer shirt for all the grand kids back in the US. By the time we got home it was time for the kids to come home, eat an early dinner and get their home work done before swim lessons. Ger and I went with Bridget and the kids over to Ascot where there is a private school with a huge indoor pool. The lessons took a half hour and we were amazed at what good swimmers both the kids are. Abby is working on the back stroke in the deep end of the pool while Roman is swimming laps using a variety of strokes. It was quite lovely to sit in the HOT pool area for the half hour and feel like we were back in Florida.
We are wondering what the weather will be like in Wales over the next 2 days. Ger and I have packed our back packs and are ready to get the train from Windsor tomorrow morning. I am leaving my computer home because it is too much of a bother to carry and I don't know if the hotel we're staying at will have WIFI so I will be out of touch for the next 2 nights.
Stay tuned for Thursday nights return . . .
